OMORI AUS

Animalistic AU

CW: None

The more negative you are, the more animalistic you are. Sunny is at maximum level. After Sunny moves, he is befriended by George, who has a crush on him that Sunny is unaware of.

Sunny - The most animalistic of the group, is basically a cat who walks on two legs and has hair. Made no attempt to hide his animalistic features. Starts wearing a yellow smiley mask constantly after moving, and wears an orange hoodie, purple gloves, shoes, and blue pants when going out. His senses are equivalent to a cats, including sharper vision and ability to see in the dark. However, his range of color is unchanged, and he’s also still capable of tasting sweets. Sunny can also go into “loaf mode,” usually done so in order to take as little room as possible when on floors and couches. He is a big fan of drinking water, and doesn’t really like going in it at all rather than just being afraid of drowning. Sunny can jump pretty high, and uses his whiskers to squeeze into small spaces in order to hide. When he’s nonverbal, he’ll usually meow or hiss. He yawns and stretches like a cat, and his sharp teeth means he’s strictly a carnivore, and he usually emotions through his ears or tail. Basil keeps a scratching post in his room for whenever Sunny would come over to use on his retractable claws, and still kept it during Sunny’s time as a shut-in. He also has paw pads, and his eyes look like how a cats do, meaning they’re technically white now. Sunny’s nose is usually wet, and he chases & eats small animals, which got him banned from Aubrey’s room for Bun Bun’s safety. Hector always barks at him, and as a result, he’s scared of him. A similar event occurs post canon due to Hero losing control and barking at him after he confessed to killing Mari. Sunny curls up on people he trusts and sleeps on him, mrrps and purrs, and uses his claws rather than a knife (knife taken away = Kel trimming his claws). He’ll still carry a knife if his claws become too blunt, and he also eats with them (which his mom really hates). Sunny runs on all fours and is way faster when he does (being the fastest out of the group, including Kel, when doing so), and he headbutts for affection. Very quiet when he walks, and his mom has bought cat toys and catnip for entertainment, and chews on wires, paper towels, and sleeps on paper. When wearing his mask, he’ll lift the mask up slightly in order to bite or eat. He never takes the mask off unless with his friends (including George) or he’s asleep. Bites when annoyed.

image

Kel - Wears silver gloves and shoes. Has paws with fur, paw pads, and claws. Kel’s claws click on the floor when walking on the sidewalk or tile, meaning he’s really easy to hear coming (if you have a pet dog I’m sure you know the sound). He clicks his claws either together or on the walls/counters/table when he’s bored or thinking, and he occasionally yips. Angsty about his lack of retractable claws/silly (inside joke)

image

Hero - Wears a red hat and his shirt is slightly baggier. Has dog ears and fur on his chest and stomach that spreads to his elbows. Hero barks when angry, growls when annoyed, and his ears are very expressive. Due to this, people often want to pet or touch them, which he hates, but they do it anyway and he pretends it's fine (it's not he’s going to bite someone). On the topic of biting, he’s accidentally bitten his dad on accident, and is worried about biting Kel or Sally following that. The fight that Kel mentions should you bring him to Mari’s grave had Hero start barking and growling at Kel, scaring him and causing Hero to start heavily suppressing his instincts. When suppressing noises, he’ll press his hands over his mouth. He begins lightening up after seeing Sunny, but barking at him in the hospital causes him to start suppressing them again. He whimpers when sad and has really good hearing to the point where his human ears might as well not work (they do). People even tend to whisper things into his dog ears instead despite the inconvenience of it. He’s also capable of detecting cancer or other diseases in people, which is just another reason his parents are so insistent on him becoming a doctor. He’s also got a bit of separation anxiety, so Kel lets him bring some of his things to his college dorm. Hero doesn’t have a dog’s sense of smell, but it comforts him nonetheless. He’s also played with Hector’s toys before in secret

image

Aubrey - Wears a mask, silver gloves, and boots. Her jacket sleeves are also longer. Has a patch of fur on her face and a rabbit nose. Fur covers all of her arms and up to her knees on her legs. Dyes her fur pink when she stops hiding it. Aubrey has a fear of predator animals, but they are heavily suppressed, and she has a great sense of smell. She’s also a vegan and is a pretty quiet walker, hopping when surprised (though she hates that). Aubrey also has a secret compartment of wooden chew toys to keep her teeth kept up. It’s in a separate drawer to keep them separate from Bun Bun’s toys.

image

Basil - Wears an oversized beanie and pants. Has rabbit ears and furry rabbit-like legs, fur going up to his waist. No tail. Basil’s hearing is great!! Similar to Hero, his human ears do still work, they just might as well not. Basil tugs on his hat when nervous, and continues doing so when not currently wearing it, causing him to accidentally tug on his ears instead. He’s not a strict herbivore like Aubrey is, though does usually stick to the diet regardless, usually growing his food in his garden. His legs are more rabbit than human, and therefore he’s quiet when walking, but he can still walk like a person. He can also hop around, but he tends to not do that. Basil can jump pretty high, and can easily clear a fence if he’s that determined to get out of the area. There’s an old burrow in the Hangout Spot that Sunny and Basil dug. Basil still goes there often to calm down, but it’s gotten him in trouble pretty often with the hooligans. He does binkys!! These occur rarely and only when he’s really happy - it consists of him jumping and turning in the air. Basil’s panicked runs tend to be zig-zagged, and he flops when tired or content. Sunny and Basil lick each other's faces in affection. They’ll lick George’s face as well.

image

Mari - Wears shoes and doesn't open her mouth wide very often. Has paws with fur and fangs. Mari’s pretty quiet when she walks, and she purrs loudly and often, sometimes biting. Often curled up with sick friends or Sunny so she can try to make them feel better with her purring, even though she usually wound up sick herself from it.

image

George - George only has patches of fur.

Silly sub-au where George and Sunny somehow manage to murder their bully and dispose of the corpse by Sunny eating off it and then burying it in the woods. Whoops. Sunny and Mari are sea monsters. Following Mari’s death, Sunny starts living on the surface, occasionally sneaking into town to steal food. Four years later, the friends are at the beach where they find Sunny and take him home. Hero would often come here to chat with Mari, and despite her never coming for four years, he still came, though to a much less degree. The friends don’t find out Sunny isn’t human until he finds out Hero was at the beach looking for his dead sister (Omori has blocked out the memories and replaced it with that something on the surface, most likely a human, killed her, which is why Sunny stayed away from town most of the time). Omori is always a sea monster, both in White Space and the Real World. Sunny is also always a sea monster in White Space) and goes to find him, but it starts raining and he gets lost, ending up at Basil’s and failing to remember he’s in sea monster form. Basil gets scared and stabs Sunny in the eye (he was outside with the shears, making sure the rain wouldn’t hurt his plants), then fills with guilt and brings Sunny inside. He then calls everyone over and tells them there's a sea monster in his house, but all they find is Sunny, drying himself off and missing an eye. Hero still takes care of Sunny despite this, and Kel is the biggest fan of this.

Werewolf Sunny AU

CW: Accidental Cannibalism

Kel drags Sunny out to the woods when they were twelve, Sunny gets attacked by a werewolf and discovers he’s become one himself a few days later. His werewolf side grows to become its own personality named Omori, who attempts to kill Sunny in order to take full control of his body. Sunny manages to talk him out of it, and the two coexist but not in the best of ways, with Omori taking control often and without warning, which shifts Sunny into full wolf mode. After another talk, Omori and Sunny exist together on better terms, and Omori gives Sunny the ability to use his wolf abilities without Omori even needing to be in control, and promises to give Sunny a warning before he does take control. Omori grows to become very protective of Sunny, which, mixing in with his violent personality, ends up being bad several times, such as influencing Sunny to push Mari down the stairs, and to try to attack Aubrey several times after leaving his house. He also helped cover up Mari’s death, which then led him to resenting Basil as his protective feelings towards Sunny overrides the fact Sunny helped cover up the murder as well, and because Sunny was completely unresponsive and that Omori had made the final push that caused Sunny to shove his sister. Sunny accidentally murders his mother as well, and eats off it in Full Moon Form, hiding the body way behind his house so his friends don’t find out and Omori helps him cover this up as well. Sunny lies and says his mom is in the city setting up for the move, as that’s what she would be doing if she wasn’t dead. Omori soon decides that if he were to go with his long abandoned original plan, then Sunny would be safe forever, if he no longer exists. So he attempts to take over Sunny’s body permanently, but Sunny manages to overcome him. Omori and Sunny go back to their original relationship, with Omori apologizing to Sunny, like how Sunny apologizes to his friends about his mom and Mari. Sunny gets adopted by Kim and Vance’s Mom post canon, and he requests Omori to not heal the injury from Basil's shears, wanting it to scar instead.

Psychic AU

CW: Fabricated Lies/Messing With Memories

In which the friends have psychic powers you get in Psychonauts. Sunny’s psychic energy is stored incorrectly, as well as being suppressed later on, and often leads to outbursts, like Mari’s death, Basil being knocked unconscious after getting slammed into his door following Sunny’s eye getting stabbed, and almost launching Aubrey. Basil uses mental connection and astral projection on Sunny the night of Mari's death in order to warp his thoughts and, in his eyes, sever any possible ways that Sunny could think he was responsible for the death. The rest of canon follows, and during the two's fight, Basil attempts to force himself back into Sunny's mind to make sure he won't ever think he had anything to do with it. Omori follows the role he has in canon, and helps enforce the severed memories Basil caused. Once he and Sunny make amends, Omori becomes Sunny's archetype. While nobody really looks different, the friends do have white pupils that change according to what PSI they use. Also, Omori is a piece of paper when he's summoned as a archetype.

    Power AU

    CW: None

A AU where the kids have one power each.

    Sunny: Dream World Manipulation

Mari: Teleportation (Transferred to Sunny upon death)

    Hero: Healing

    Kel: Super Speed

    Basil: Plant Control

    Aubrey: Super Strength

Mari is able to teleport anyone with her as long as she is holding their hand in some way, even if the person is holding the hand of someone holding her hand. Sunny creates a trauma hidingless Headspace years prior to Mari’s death, and his dream world manipulation abilities go further than just his mind. He’s able to enter anyone’s dream world and mess with it as long as they’re both asleep, though he’s only ever done this with Mari because he thinks it’d be weird otherwise. When Mari dies, her power is transferred to Sunny, however, he doesn’t realize this until a week later when he accidentally teleports his mom out the house (he doesn't need to make physical contact with people like Mari did), though he does feel incredibly off until then, simply thinking it was because he killed his sister. On the night before Sunny sees his friends again in canon, he accidentally teleports his friends into Headspace as a result of his high emotions about the move, pressure to see his friends again, the recent fight with Something in the Dark, and his hunger being to the point where he could no longer ignore it. However, due to never getting a grasp on this power due to ignoring it most of the time, and because this has never happened before, Sunny isn’t quite sure how to get them out his mind. The Headspace group and the Real World group coexist in his mind, but Omori and Sunny are sharing Omori’s body, and neither knows why. The Real World group also are not physically in the Real World anymore, and their parents worry that they’ve run away or gone missing. Sunny doesn’t tell them anything. Since no one has talked to each other aside from the brothers, Aubrey is very much not happy about being stuck with them, and regularly makes it known by yelling at Sunny about his stupid powers. Hero almost immediately realized that Sunny had gained Mari’s power after her death, though it took the rest a little bit to process that Sunny did not have the ability to teleport people last time they saw him. Aubrey also regularly makes comments about Basil, but they’re more vague and don’t directly mention the once ruined photo album. Sunny is still able to wake up without causing harm to his friends, with Omori being sent back to White Space. The friends are trapped in whatever area they are currently in, as there’s barriers surrounding them. Sunny spends his little waking hours trying and failing to research his powers, and at one point passed out and was found by Polly while she was out looking for Basil. Polly is now watching over Sunny after learning that no one was watching him and wouldn’t be for three days. She recognizes him from the album, and is too concerned for his health to just leave him there. Polly doesn’t know about anyone’s powers, including Basil’s, as his parents neglected to tell her and Basil didn’t think it was important as it wasn’t out of control or dangerous. Sunny refuses to tell her why he’s asleep all the time or if he knows where Basil is, and she can’t get him to eat either as he ignores her when she tries and he forgets about it on his own. On the flipside, the Real World friends are able to be sustained from the food in Headspace, it works just the same as food in the Real World. Upon learning this information, Kel points out that it’s mildly concerning that Sunny’s mind abilities are powerful enough to keep people alive like this. Sunny feels more and more guilt for accidentally trapping his friends in his mind, and Aubrey isn’t helping with her comments, but Sunny makes no attempt to defend himself and Omori eventually gets tired of her and yells back, having different opinions from Sunny about how he should be treated. Sunny can hear everything in Headspace, awake or asleep, and it's taking a hit on his sanity being able to hear voices in his head constantly, even if it is just his friends. Originally, he could simply shut down Headspace when he woke up, and he couldn’t hear anything coming from it until he went to bed and opened it back up. But with his friends constantly in Headspace, he can’t shut it down for fear of what would happen to his friends, and so he can constantly hear everything from Headspace. This quickly twisted itself into making him have the same level hearing while inside Headspace itself, and both of these things have caused him to hear things his friends did not intend for him to hear. His friends are never made aware of this until after they get out, and they apologize to Sunny, who denies their apology. Sunny refuses to tell anyone because he doesn’t want them to ‘worry about nothing’ (aka his sanity) when he’s already put them through so much. Omori disagrees and tells Sunny constantly that he needs to stop treating himself like this, but doesn’t say anything anyway because of Sunny essentially begging him not to. Since Sunny doesn’t know about the album, the Headspace group aren’t aware of why Aubrey was always so rude to Basil and Sunny. Or at least not the full reason she’s mad at Sunny, since they don’t know Real World Mari is dead for quite some time. They do know that she’s mad for the mind thing, but not about his lack of support after Mari’s death. Omori is upset with Aubrey for being mad at the both of them, but his opinions on Sunny are more prominent than Basil’s. The truth is unable to be pushed down anymore since Sunny’s friends are physically in his mind, and Omori can’t go anywhere without Sunny, aside from White Space when Sunny’s awake. While all of the Real World friends talk to Headspace Mari a lot, Hero does the most, with the others feeling kind of sad when this happens. Mari usually likes hanging out with Basil, due to the vanishing of Headspace Basil, but Real World Basil is very uncomfortable around her. The Headspace group do not have their powers, and once they realize the Real World group do, Aubrey and Kel immediately act jealous over it. Headspace Hero can still heal, but through food instead of touch like Real World Hero. Mari also cannot teleport, and her appearances throughout Headspace are simply Dream World Shenanigans. Initially, the Real World group didn’t tell Mari that she was dead in the Real World, as there would be no point to it, simply letting her believe she was still at College after Hero mentions that he had been coming home from College at the time, though remained confused on why she wasn’t teleported with the others, but after a argument between Kel and Aubrey, she finds out, and goes completely unresponsive the rest of the night and never quite goes back to her cheerful demeanor. Sunny was not around at the time, so they assume he didn’t hear it, since they don’t know he can hear everything. Sunny finally manages to get his friends out of his mind after his sanity has completely broken and he stole one of the knives from Basil’s kitchen and locked himself in Basil’s room. He then proceeded to cut his eye out, with several different emotions and feelings mixing together (pain, self-hate, guilt, and others) finally unlocking the ability to transport the friends out Sunny’s mind and back wherever they were prior to being transported. Meaning that Basil was back in his bed, and was the first to see Sunny with his eye missing and covered in his own blood, late at night with low illumination, and was absolutely terrified and started screaming. Sunny had no response, simply continuing to smile and mumble about how quiet it was. Hero is capable of healing the wound, and even reattaching Sunny’s eye should he hold the two together (he notes that it’ll probably be incredibly uncomfortable, but would put aside those feelings for the best of Sunny’s health). However, Sunny refuses to let him, for several reasons, most prominently being the accidental murder of Mari and accidentally trapping his friends in his mind for three days. He also refuses to accept anyone’s apologies for unintentionally driving him insane and not being able to stop him from cutting out his eye, as he thinks he deserves everything that happened to him, and since it all stemmed from one mistake he made, he’s responsible for it all. Sunny is unconscious during the Black Space segment, and Omori is left in White Space for the Truth segment, and remains in Sunny’s mind as a fully fledged separate personality after the fight. Due to this, they no longer share a body when in Headspace, and Omori stays silent for a week before informing Sunny he’s still here (Sunny most likely did not visit Headspace for awhile due to feelings of guilt surfacing when thinking of it) in order to give Sunny a break from voices in his head. Hero ended up buying Sunny noise canceling headphones (Sunny surprisingly accepted it instead of rejecting it like everything else that benefited him when it came to the Headspace incident), which he carries around out in public, due to still being sensitive to constant speaking or overlapping conversations after the incident. Similar to the Psychic AU, the friends simply have white pupils, though they glow their associated color when they use their power.

Omori manages to overcome Sunny and instead of permanently erasing him, sends him to BS2, along with his friends when he closes out Headspace and wakes up in Sunny's body. The friends being sent to BS2 means that Omori has forgotten about them (most of the time, anyway), and he can no longer hear them. Their powers have been removed and given to Omori upon this action, meaning he now has six abilities and only knows how to use one. Sunny is around in BS2, but empty and barely ever talks or even moves, and is usually sitting in the middle of the BS2 hub. In BS2, the group does not need to sustain themselves, or take care of themselves, as nothing would affect them. Being foreign entities means they can travel through the different worlds, though they usually stay with Sunny in the hub. Omori's laptop will not transport them to White Space, and seems to be smashed. It's unknown if the group will get corrupted or how, and they're concerned about Sunny's mental state if this place was hovering about his mind. Sunny's sanity is still mostly gone, but he hadn't quite snapped yet, and will sometimes make incoherent comments. Due to Omori and Sunny's dreamscape abilities combining, Omori has developed reality warping abilities, using them to change Faraway and its residents to a real version of Headspace. The world of Black Space has corrupted the friends' appearances.

    Sims AU

    CW: Cannibalism

AU based off the Sims 3 Supernatural Expansion Pack. Sunny still killed Mari, but he and Basil did not frame the death as suicide due to hauntings being common knowledge. Mari has forgiven Sunny, and no one really minds (since Mari is able to hang out and is still capable of aging somehow, she’s basically the same as when she was alive, with a few minor differences) and seem to make light of the situation instead. Everyone but Kel are also technically cannibals (technically as they aren't really human anymore) and all live in a mansion together. Hero cooks Kel regular food.

Sunny: Werewolf [longer life span, higher endurance, will always win in a fight, can hunt for objects, loud howl, will sniff people, growl at them, scratch at the furniture, shed fur. if he annoys people, they’ll probably smack him on the nose with a newspaper. messy eater, able to eat raw meat, will rummage through trash. Omori is the same as in the werewolf au, being Sunny’s werewolf half who is a separate person.]

Mari: Ghost (Blunt Force Trauma) [echoey voice, ability to float, can possess objects, can become invisible, will scare other people (which annoys the others, but Basil will pass out sometimes), can phase through objects, walls, and other people]

    image

Basil: Fairy [longer lifespan, can fly, turn to his natural form (a small, green glowing version of himself), natural ability to grow plants, can temporarily grant others the ability to fly, can repair things easier than others in his smaller form, can set traps (doesn’t do it often because it annoys the others), and perform a variety of tricks. These are making the other feel super cold or super hot, make others feel sick and throw up, make others cough up coins or toads. he does not do these often for the same reason as the traps. can also emit an aura that soothes others or boosts their creativity. He will often become his natural form, and play tag with Sunny.]

Before she died, Basil's grandmother gave him a plant. Basil found out a few days later that the plant only drank blood, but due to not wanting a gift from his beloved late grandmother to die, let it drink his. Once the plant got too big to live off the small amount of Basil's blood it could get, Basil realized it needed entire people. The thought sickened him, and he couldn't bring himself to do it. So, he asked Sunny, who, surprisingly, agreed to it. Basil made sure it was only bad people Sunny killed. Sunny would kill a target Basil picked out during the night, and bring it to Basil, who would feed it to the plant, who lived in Basil's grandmother's old room. Polly somehow isn't aware. None of the others are. One victim fought back against Sunny, stabbing him in the eye before dying. Sunny managed to bring the body to Basil's plant's room, before knocking on the door and running back to his house, where a still awake Mari caught him. She called an ambulance and Sunny confessed before passing out. They talked about it later after Sunny got out of the hospital, and Mari agreed to not tell anyone under Sunny's threat that he would never talk to her again if she did. Mari is basically Sunny's parent, as Sunny murdered his parents for the plant. So, only Sunny, Basil, and Mari know. They blame the injury on the serial killer loose in town, since the others aren't aware it's Sunny himself. While Sunny was in the hospital, Basil fed the plant one limb at a time so that he wouldn't run out before Sunny was released. Everyone's personalities are the same as the in canon present day, except Aubrey isn't as much of a jerk and Sunny is absolutely deranged, losing any of his moral senses.
